Claudette Lansrud’s insurance story begins before LLIS.

Judith Maurer (LLIS’s founder) recruited Claudette in the spring of 1995 to work at Wholesale Insurance Network (WIN) for what was described as “a very hard job”; one that required her to turn chaos into order, a friendly personality, attention to detail, and a desire to help people protect their families. Judith and Claudette had never worked together but they were friends and Judith had seen her raise a record $35,000 at the elementary school walk-a-thon. She thought, “If she can handle a room of 35 elementary school kids, how hard could it be to manage a bunch of customer service reps?” 

Claudette became the customer service manager and, after it was acquired by GE Capital, they all retired for a little while. Judith didn’t take well to retirement and started LLIS in September 1998. Like Judith, Claudette missed working with the advisors and their clients, so she started with LLIS almost immediately. She was LLIS’s first employee—and its longest one—19 years! Her roles have changed and she’s had many different titles, but no one managed a client’s case better than Claudette. And if you had the opportunity to work with her, you know she will be dearly missed.

We bade farewell and happy retirement to Claudette on November 30^th. As we celebrated her accomplishments with LLIS, it was easy to associate her name with some incredible adjectives:
