What beats learning, sharing, networking, and CE-earning at the beach? Not much.  

Jeremiah Erickson even treated everyone by the fire pit to some awesome guitar and vocals.

But it wasn’t all fun and games. Academy attendees earned 12 CEs in topics that included:

• Protecting clients’ nest eggs and their financial plans
• The most efficient way to “shop” for insurance
• DNA tests and underwriting
• Business Disability insurance
• Group Life and Disability insurance
• Long Term Care insurance and Hybrids

Among the hot topics were marijuana use and DNA tests and how they affect your clients’ underwriting. We’ll explore those topics further at next year’s Academy.

If you attended Academy between 2017 and 2019, you received a confidential survey from Dina Vann, our independent meeting planner. Thank you for your responses! We learned so much about what you like about Academy and what we can do better, and we’re shaking things up based on your input.

What’s new and exciting:

• More outdoors time (weather permitting)!
• Group advisors with common interests and client bases for some sessions
• Thursday night we’ll still gather for dinner, but all in one place (no more dine-arounds)
• More outside experts who will share insights about topics important to you and your clients 
• We’ll end earlier Friday for more convenient flights out or transitions to vacation time

What won't change:

• Academy is an intentional gathering, with a small group of advisors to build relationships (with each other and teamLLIS), find encouragement, and share ideas and resources
• Meet, Greet & Eat Wednesday, which allows everyone to get to know each other before the intellectual part starts
• The smiling faces of teamLLIS leading the conference
• Our efforts to get you the best hotel rates for winter season in the Tampa Bay area to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses (and we consistently find that these rates are lower than most conference hotel rates in the financial industry)
